A Memorable (And Timely) Rant

I discovered this YouTube video of Harlan Ellison, an author who has written many, many short stories, novels, and screenplays. This is exactly what I think every time a company calls me to use one of my photographs for free.

Amateurs who are flattered by a byline without a pay check (or pennies on the dollar, as many stock photography houses now offer) are stupid. I get worked up about as much as Ellison does.

“I don’t take a pee without getting paid!”  Absolutely love it.

I admire your work since the day I saw it in Flikr. I was almost shock by it. I have read many of your post on What you talk about how hard is becoming earning your life doing photographs. I have thought about that many times and I have get to a point, and I think I knew it so time ago: there is a real way of make money doing photographs, and this is making wedding photography, sport photography, fashion photography and so on. This is the REAL work of a professional photographer.
When some friend has seen my photographs they say: hey, no bad, you could be professional. Then I say: well, I don´t know, but I don´t want to make photographs taken of weddings in any case.
